Three women, three bikes, and a boat... what could possibly go wrong? 🀣🚴‍β™€οΈπŸš΄‍β™€οΈπŸš΄‍♀️ I'm spending a week in Croatia with two close friends, starting our adventure in Split. We'll be touring the islands, cycling, indulging in delicious food and drink, and simply embracing the joy of good company and great times.

Preparation is key! 😎 Deciding what to pack, what to wear, and, of course, checking the weather is all part of the fun. Like many, I’m not exactly known for traveling light, so I began by laying out everything I *wanted* to bring. Then came the challenge—paring it down to just the essentials that would actually fit in my suitcase. Let’s just say... it was a process! πŸ€πŸ™ˆ

An unexpected surprise awaited in a pair of cycling shoes that hadn’t been used in a while—a family of spiders had moved in! πŸ•·οΈπŸ•·οΈπŸ•·οΈ To make matters even more shocking, hundreds of baby spiders had hatched inside. 😱 What would you do in this situation?

If you know me, you'll know I firmly believe this: you can never have too many pairs of shoes.

While visiting the local bike shop, I stumbled upon the perfect pair of white MTB shoes—completely impractical, yet absolutely irresistible. Let's be honest, who buys white shoes for cycling through mud? But hey, the spiders will have to stay comfy for another week or two, because I couldn’t resist these gorgeous new shoes.

Now, all that’s left is to make it to the airport for an early flight out of Gatwick. Let’s just say packing light didn’t quite go as planned for any of us 🀦‍♀️.

Day 6 - Thunderstorms β›ˆοΈ & Rain 🌧️

Thursday and we are staying put in Stari Grad.  The thunderstorms over night & torrential rain this morning have meant all plans are cancelled & due to rough seas we are not going anywhere. A very gray, miserable, wet sort of day 😒 A few boats came and went but generally it seemed everyone was staying put and not going anywhere.  We are in a large inland port, so although it is raining (and hasn't stopped) we are protected from the wind.

Day 4 - Korcula History, E-bikes & Gravel

Having arrived in Korcula yesterday after lunch, the weather was glorious so we all took a ride to the beach. Β Beautifully clear water and a lovely sandy beach πŸ–οΈ - perfect πŸ‘Œ we rode back to the ship left the bikes & had a guided walking tour of the Old Town. The Croatians claim that Marco Polo was born here, the Venetians would tell a different story! Apparently there is no birth certificate so no one actually knows, however he is buried in Venice.Β

Day 2 - Stormy Seas

This morning πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈ we were woken at 6 am by the church bells, Β a full 2 minutes of ringing with 6 loud clangs for the hour πŸ”” it's a lovely sound.Β

3 Women, 3 bikes and a boat......

Having flown from Gatwick at some stupid o'clock hour, we arrived in Split and joined our Boat. Our guide is an interesting chap, very expansive with his language, after all why use 5 words when 42 will suffice πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ saying that his level of detail & knowledge is impressive.
