Hi there! That’s me in France—cycling has always been a passion of mine 🚴‍♀️, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Over the years, I’ve taken on many cycling challenges. I’m not into racing; I cycle purely for the joy of it and to nurture both my physical and mental health. After all, if the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that mental health is just as important as physical health. So, take care of yourself! 💪❤️

I’m a seasoned cyclist (okay, very seasoned—some might even say old 😱). Cycling helps me clear my mind, and I pair it with other hobbies like golf, wild swimming, and cooking. Together, these keep me fit, healthy, and, most importantly, happy! 😁😊

Along this journey, I’ve made some wonderful friends, discovered so much about myself, and deepened my passion for bikes. The people I’ve met, the stories I’ve heard, and the experiences I’ve had all weave beautifully into the fabric of life. When you’re out on your bike, you get to see life in its raw, authentic form. And if, like me, you occasionally take a wrong turn, it’s okay—life isn’t about perfection.

In 2016, I had the incredible opportunity to cycle through Vietnam and Cambodia. It was hot and humid—my hair was perpetually frizzy, and I looked like I had just stepped out of a sauna, tomato-red —but what an unforgettable adventure it was. The warmth of the people, the vibrant food, the unique smells, and the poignant history shaped the experience. Angkor Wat, in particular, was absolutely breath-taking.

In September 2016, we embarked on an unforgettable cycling journey from London to Paris to support the Lily Foundation, a truly inspiring charity. Our group of four adventurers chose the scenic Avenue Verte route, with the stretch from London to Dover being decent, but the ride from Calais to Paris proving absolutely spectacular.

While a Garmin might have made navigation easier, relying on a paper map only added to the charm and unpredictability of the trip. From taking wrong turns to getting completely lost, not speaking French, and navigating unfamiliar territory with a healthy dose of cluelessness, the experience turned into the perfect mix of challenge and adventure 🚴‍♀️🤷‍♀️.

At the age of 56, I decided to take a leap and learn how to swim. From there, I thought, why not give triathlon a shot? After all, what could possibly go wrong? 🤔

Once I stepped outside my comfort zone, I returned with renewed passion for cycling. In 2019, I rode from Lutterworth to Great Yarmouth with my girlfriends and completed the London Ride 100. Fast forward to 2022, I cycled from Lutterworth to Skegness and back to support LOROS, and even tackled the Isle of Man TT Circuit. These are just a few of my adventures!

Mountain biking at Cannock Chase, gravel biking through Sherwood Forest and the Forest of Dean, or exploring the byways and bridle paths of England—cycling transforms the way you see the world. Every ride brings a fresh perspective to your day.

My advice? Take the plunge—try something new. After all, what do you have to lose? 😊
