49 Miles (78 km) 879 ft of Ascent (268 m)
Yesterday was amazing, for the hills & climb. The Yorkshire moors are certainly beautiful. I have been singing to myself this week, (I've not got a singing voice, so don't do it out loud ๐ ) and it's been the Kate Bush song Wuthering Heights (I think from the 80's but I'm not 100%) The book is obviously a classic & a personal favourite & imo the song is to, it's seems so appropriate given we have been crossing the wild & windy moors ๐ต๐ถ๐ค
We set off from Ripon Market Place, I wouldn't say it was warm, but it wasn't raining which is a great start ๐๐๐ดโ๏ธ๐ดโ๏ธ๐ดโ๏ธ๐ดโ๏ธ. We rolled out of Ripon on a lovely cycle path following the river to our first coffee stop. The countryside is very different, yesterday was huge skies today was more farmland ๐. Richard (nicknamed Orange ๐) is doing the whole route on his MTB with fully coordinated accessories ๐
As we rolled along towards York, we went through the Beningborough Hall estate, absolutely beautiful. We stayed on the bike path, generally a lovely flat, smooth surface, apparently it's on the York flood plain so floods during the wet weather. The sun came out, York is glorious, because of the good weather the Minster was very busy with cyclists ๐ดโ๏ธ pedestrians ๐ถโ๏ธ children, dogs, ๐. We have passed a lot of lovely villages on some great cycles paths & small lanes โบ๏ธ
The ride from York to Pocklington was flat and a lovely rolling road, we had 1 diversion to avoid going through a field. We stopped at Stamford Bridge for a quick photo stop and carried to Pocklington, a lovely little Market Town.
A quick shower and settle down to watch England ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ vs Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ- Fingers crossed ๐ค for a positive result ๐

Thanks Marilyn it has been a blast, I can highly recommend it. The pink overshoes are a real faff, but it hasnโt rained whilst Iโve been wearing them so they have had to stay on ๐๐ค
