One thing you could never accuse the Wheelers of is being boring. A great group of people, who generally get along with everyone. The aim isn't to go quickly beating segments or to arrive before anyone else, the aim generally is to have a chat, catch up and put the worlds to right ππ΄βοΈ Something usually happens that is unexpected & Friday evening was no different. Off we pootled on a bike path route that is familiar with everyone.
20 mins into the ride and a snapped pedal, i have never known a pedal snap, so we tried to fudge things and get going again, 10 yards further on the fudge failed miserably π²π΄βοΈ. Pedalling with a stump in trainers is not the easiest thing in the world, but being the determined young lady she is, she carried on, I have to say pedalling up a slight hill (aka mountain) is tough when you only have 1 functioning pedal.
Things were going well until 3/4 of the way through the ride and a saddle (fortunately on a different bike) decided to start misbehaving, the only option was to clench the glutes and carry on to the pub......π²
The two people concerned did well and deserved the drink at the end, hopefully next week we will have an event free ride ππ€«π«’
